HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - A Mountain Pine man received a seven-year sentence in Federal Prison Friday after he was caught with a significant amount of meth and cash.
Prentice Jerel Daniels, aka “PJ”, 29, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
According to court records, on two separate occasions in July 2015, members of the 18th Judicial East Drug Task Force made a controlled purchase of one ounce of meth from Daniels, recording the transactions each time.
Police say Daniels was a known distributor of meth in the Mountain Pine area.
On August 6, 2015, officers got a search warrant for Daniels' home and located a "large amount" of meth and over $12,000 in cash. The confiscated drugs were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab where they tested positive to be 663 grams of actual meth.
Daniels was named in a federal indictment in September 2015 and pleaded guilty in August 2016.
The body was found after a boating accident Friday night.
