STUTTGART, Ark. - A mother still searches for answers three years after her daughter disappeared. Cassie Compton was last seen in September of 2014. Her mother says Cassie walked away from her Stuttgart home with her cellphone and has not been seen since.
Thursday will mark a painful anniversary for Judy Compton. It's three years from the day her daughter disappeared. She says she still feels the emptiness inside years later that she felt the night her daughter went missing.
Days have turned into weeks and now into years since Judy Compton last saw her daughter Cassie.
She says she is still searching for answers about what happened September 14, 2014.
"She went out the door with her phone and I haven't seen her since," said Judy.
Her daughter being gone has left a void in her heart that a picture close to her chest can't fill. She believes there's more information out there.
"I think somebody knows where she is or what happened to her and they're just not coming forward," said Judy.
Tonya Gregory is Cassie's sister. She recently moved to Stuttgart to help find her.
"I have looked everywhere to see if I notice her or see her," said Tonya.
She's a new mother herself and says Cassie doesn't even know she's an aunt.
"He looks at her picture and reaches for it," said Tonya. "It's hard to think about."
Almost 1,097 days later, Judy pleads for her daughter to come home safe.
"If my daughter happens to see this I want her to know I love her and miss her," said Judy.
They are wanting answers and holding on to hope they can make this family whole again.
"It's like the days pass by so fast. It makes it hard," said Judy.
The family is planning on having a balloon release this weekend in honor of Cassie.
There is also a community wide porch light vigil that's being held Wednesday. For more information, click here.
