LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Saturday marks 40 days since 14-year-old Cyncere Alexander was murdered in Little Rock.
For the first time, KARK 4 hears from Cyncere's mother and her plea for witnesses to come forward.
"He was just a jokester, he just loved making people laugh. Now I'd do anything for one of them jokes."
Angelia Johnson has been missing her family jokester since July 24, 2017.
"I remember that night like yesterday," she said.
Cyncere Alexander, 14, was visiting his dad in Little Rock one Monday night when he was shot and killed inside the Pleasant Pointe Apartments.
According to police, there was no evidence of a break in and only a vague description of a suspect.
In earlier interviews, Cyncere's father admitted to being a former gang member. A brand Johnson feels her son was unfairly stamped with.
"It's not about his dad, it's not about me, it's about this 14 year old child that somebody, not only shot one time, shot at 4 times, hit him 3 times execution style," she said.
Hand signs in Facebook photos she says, also painted the wrong picture.
"That's not a gang sign, this is a sign of wrestling."
Despite rumors of gang activity, the mourning mother only wants to know who killed her boy.
"For whatever, that person pulled that trigger on my child, does not make it right. It does not make it to where he doesn't deserve justice. "
"Say something, if you know it, please say something."
