Man Wounded in Little Rock Shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A local man is recovering after being shot in a late-night incident on the city's west side.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says officers were called to the Motel 6 in the 10500 block of W. Markham St. around 11 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the 32-year-old victim was found at the Baptist Health emergency room. His injuries have been described as serious enough to require surgery but not life-threatening.

The LRPD says when officers were called to the scene they were told there had been an accident with injury and that shots had been fired.

The first witness police spoke to at the motel told officers the victim had been shot and then ran down to a nearby gas station. Two other witnesses told officers they were in a room of the motel when a vehicle came through the front window. Those witnesses also reported hearing gunshots but said they did not see anything else.
