Man Shot at LR Police Officer's Home Released from Hospital

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A man wounded in an officer-involved shooting on Feb. 27 has been released from the hospital and taken to jail.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says Cartier Warner, 23, of Little Rock left the hospital around 7:30 Tuesday night. He was first taken to the Major Crimes division where detectives served him with a warrant. At 3 a.m. Wednesday he was booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

Warner faces a charge of felony criminal attempt to commit residential burglary. As of 10:30 Wednesday morning he did not yet have a bond amount set.

Warner was shot at the home of a Little Rock police officer at 420 Markham Mesa Place (Bowman Heights Apartments). The officer reported that Warner had banged on his front door and then tried climbing into a window when he fired the shots at him.

The LRPD says the case file regarding the use of deadly force will be sent to the prosecuting attorney’s office for review.
