Man Found Shot to Death in Monticello

MONTICELLO, Ark. - A local man has been arrested in a homicide investigation.

The Arkansas State Police says Arnold LaRon White Sr., 55, is being held at the Drew County Detention Center on manslaughter charges.

The homicide investigation is being led by Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division. 

According to an ASP news release issued Tuesday evening, authorities within the Monticello Police Department contacted state police earlier in the day, requesting assistance in the investigation into the death of Harold Miller Jr., 54, also of Monticello. 

A shooting incident at 513 West Shelton involving both men was reported to Monticello Police about 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, where officers found Miller dead. 

Miller’s body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.  

The ASP will prepare an investigative file and submit the findings to the Drew County prosecuting attorney.
