LRSD Gets Funds to Help Students Find Careers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A big grant has been awarded to the Little Rock School District (LRSD) for its Excel program.

Excel allows high school students to get hands-on experience learning about careers.

Students can also get college credit while in the classroom.

The Blue and You Foundation awarded LRSD $117-thousand for the medical sciences program.

"We really appreciate the Blue and You foundation for awarding us this grant. It's going to provide students with several different opportunities. Especially for us to serve more students."

Along with medical science, there's a teaching program, technology solution program and construction unit in Excel.
