LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Police are searching for two suspects after a man was shot at a hotel on the city's west side early Monday.
The Little Rock Police Department says it happened around midnight at the Studio 6 Extended Stay on Breckenridge Drive.
A 34-year-old man told officers he was shot in the hip after being approached by two other males in a stairwell area.
The victim told police he had seen the men in the area earlier and had refused to let them use his cell phone. According to the police report, the victim later felt bad for not letting them use his phone and went back to find them. That's when he says one of them held up a pistol by his chest and started shooting. When he realized he had been hit, he returned to his room and called police. He was taken to the hospital where police say the injury was determined not to be life-threatening.
Officers first on the scene reported finding a hole in a wall possibly caused during the incident and an employee found a shell casing he gave to police.
Suspect descriptions were made after police checked surveillance video. One man drove away in a Ford Focus and the other in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. One of them was described as a black male, 5'8" tall and 165 pounds who was wearing ablue hat, black shirt and acid washed jeans. The report states he was armed with a handgun. The other suspect was described as an Hispanic male who was wearing a blue shirt and jeans. The report states he was unarmed.
