LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Fire has heavily damaged a home on the city's east side.
The Little Rock Fire Department says while the blaze appeared to be at the back of the wood frame house, a dog was found dead on the front porch.
Four downtown crews responded to the scene near 31st & Main around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
That neighborhood is a few blocks west of Interstate 30.
A cause is not yet known.
Before leaving the scene, some Little Rock firefighters helped the homeowner bury the dog in the backyard.
