Jonesboro Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Suspect in Jail

JONESBORO, Ark. - A Blytheville man has died in a shooting incident.

The Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) says a local man is being held on a charge of
First Degree Murder in the case. Jonathan Johnson, 26, is accused in the death of Dewayne Turner, 28. 

Officers were called to an address in the 900 block of Logan Ave. around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday on a report of shots fired and found Turner's body lying in the street.

The JPD says Johnson is awaiting a probable cause hearing and is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
