JACKSONVILLE, Ark. - The local Arkansas Revenue Office is cooperating in an investigation after its deposits were stolen on Sept. 29.
That means anyone who visited the revenue office and paid with a check that day, will need to write another one.
According to the State Department of Finance and Administration, about 50 people were affected and letters have already been sent out to those customers.
"The people that paid with cash, we are going to honor that. We certainly are not going to ask anyone to pay us twice," says Scott Hardin, DFA Spokesperson.
The Jacksonville Revenue Office is now working with the Jacksonville Police Department and Arkansas State Police to find out who stole the money.
