FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- It's the talk of the town. The new era of Razorback football is finally here. On Wednesday, the University of Arkansas announced Chad Morris as the new head football coach and fans have a lot to say about it.
"Hopefully he can give us a winning record. We're looking for a national championship." said Razorback fans Jackson Flynn and Benjamin Moore.
As you can see, some fans already starting off with high expectations for the newly named head coach.
"I was super hyped for Guz Malzahn. But Chad seems like a good guy. He's not the man this university wanted but he's the one we need." Moore said.
But fans aren't the only ones gearing up for this new phase in hog country.
"Well it's the truth we count on those Razorbacks. They put people in a good mood or a bad mood and when they're not winning our customers which are the fans they know." said Julie Sill.
Sill owns Hog Haus Brewing Company on Dickson Street and said she's excited about how the new hire will effect her pocket book.
"We started seeing the stadiums not being full which was a direct impact on our businesses not being full and that hurts. To have a new coach and to have a new vibrant foot going forward is always a good thing."
Now of course there are some fans who are a little skeptical about Coach Morris. But it's safe to say, no matter their thoughts on the hire, all razorback fans are looking for one thing.
"Everyone wants to see those wins and hopefully we'll be able to get that." said Sill.
Local business owners also told us that they don't think it mattered who the U of A hired. Just having a new head hog will be enough to get business booming again next football season.
