Gunshot Victim: 'HSPD Shot Me and Left Me for Dead'

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - A 23 year old shot in the Spa City claims police pulled the trigger.

DeVonja Johnson posted on Facebook, "hspd shot me and left me for dead." He then asked someone to come to the hospital and get him because they refused to let him leave.

Johnson later commented he's not "f** ok," after police shot him "in my n*** and both legs."

Arkansas State Police confirmed Hot Springs requested the agency's assistance in the investigation, but neither could say whether an officer shot the man.

According to state police, Johnson was found shot outside of a home on the 300 block of Thornton Street.

"I got up and saw all of these flashing lights," said Dianna Rigg, a neighbor. "I could see silhouettes of them looking on the ground, but I don't know for what. I never heard anything else about it."

Rigg said she doesn't know Johnson, but she does know what happens down Thornton Street.

"It's never a dull moment," said Rigg. "They congregate, they start drinking and they start fighting. And it's just usually young people who don't have no place else to go, or they get down there working on those cars and one thing leads to another."

Police have not named any suspects or made any arrests.
