POPE COUNTY, Ark. --Human remains found in Pope County have been identified as a 45-year-old man.
Kaylyn Williams holds a picture of her friend Jeremiah Murry. "We've been friends for about 15 years," says Williams.
She recalls the last time she saw him alive."He came by just to show off a new truck and ended up staying for a week," says Williams.
But soon after, he seemed to just, disappear. "At first the family thought he wanted to get away from things for a little while, or went to walk around, but he always contacts somebody just to let us know," she says.
That's when Williams and her husband put up missing person fliers all around Pope County. "It was almost immediately where Pope County was out there searching where they had found his truck abandoned."
A few days later, "they said no we found him it's now a murder investigation."
Pope County deputies say they found human remains at a home on Gold Hill Road. They arrested 29-year-old Daniel Hoffman - who now faces first degree murder charges in Murry's death. "Hearing that by itself is awful but when you put all this effort in to trying to find him and bring him home, to find out he's never coming home."
Now, Williams is hanging on to memories - in the pictures - of her friend. "That's what Jeremiah would want, everybody to celebrate the fun and the good times we had together."
Hoffman is being held at the Pope County Jail. He is set to appear in court in November.
