NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Two flags stolen from a North Little Rock community on Wednesday.
Flag after flag fly high along Military Drive outside Camp Robinson in North Little Rock. For four years, Jim Baker has been in charge of taking care of all 43.
"We are really proud of what we do for the base and all the guys and girls that work out there," says Baker.
But on Wednesday, he noticed two missing flags."I just drove and I got to the corner and I said, " something doesn't look right. So I went back to my house and got my tools and my brackets."
Something he's done before, after two flags were stolen on July 4th. "One of our neighbors says it really makes me mad, I'm going to purchase two of them, and she went to Lowes."
Baker says replacing a flag isn't the hard part."I just go into my garage and get a replacement. I try to keep a replacement on hand."
It's knowing someone would take a piece of this community's American pride. "What we want everybody to realize is they are the heart and soul." Which Baker says is the reason he will continue protecting the stars and stripes, for all who pass by. "This was started by people before me and I feel it's my obligation to do that."
