Fatal Wreck Near Bono Kills 1, Injures 4 Others

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, Ark. - A 15-year-old was killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash near Bono Wednesday afternoon, Arkansas State Police say.
 
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in Craighead County on Highway 63, north of Highway 63B. 
 
The police report shows the 15-year-old was from Hoxie and he or she was a passenger in a 1998 Chevrolet driven by Dustin Harmon, 18, also of Hoxie.
 
Harmon was driving south on Highway 63 when he crossed the center line into the northbound lane and hit an oncoming 2011 Ford head-on, killing the 15-year-old. 
 
The report shows Carol Shearon, 67, of Hardy, was driving the Ford. She had two children in the car, a 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy, both from South Haven, Mississippi. 
 
The report says Harmon, Shearon, and the two children were injured in the accident. They were taken to hospitals in Jonesboro and Memphis.
 
The report shows road conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
