Family Mourns 24-Year-Old UALR Student Found Dead in North Little Rock Ditch

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- A North Little Rock mother is mourning -- after her son was found murdered in a ditch earlier this week. Police say 24-year-old Domorion Williams was found dead in a ditch on U.S. Highway 165 in North Little Rock Tuesday.

Brigette Williams holds up a photo of her late son."This is a picture of when he made the Deans list," says Williams. This mother of four - describes 24- year old Domorion Williams as the heart of the household."He was real outgoing, he loved his family," says Williams.

"He always cooked, he was a very good cooker," says Jessie Clingmon, Domorion's grandmother. On Tuesday, Williams mother says the UALR student went to class as usual. "I kept calling his phone because he was out of class and it kept going to voicemail," says Williams. "That's when police knocked on the door."

"I was in there when the detectives came in, I was washing greens," says Clingmon. "They told us that they found him dead," says Williams.

North Little Rock police say Domorion was found in a ditch less than two miles from his North Little Rock home -  shot several times. "It's hard to lose a child, and to get murdered in a vengeance, the way that they did my son," says Williams.

This is the second loss to this family since the beginning of the year. Domorion’s cousin - 17-year old Charles Smith, Jr. - was shot and killed by police back in January. "This family and all families need to get closer because we are a big, big family," says Clingmon.

Now, Domorion’s loved ones are wondering why someone would want to take his life.  "I would say to people love your kids, because once they leave outside that door you don't know when they are going to come back," says Williams.

North Little Rock police say they don't have any suspect information at this time.
