CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. - Jacob James is in custody on charges of Animal Cruelty in Cleburne County.
Officers responded to a call near Sager Road in West Pangburn on Oct. 23 that a man identified as Jacob James had allegedly taken possession of a rifle, and went to a neighbor's house.
A witness told authorities that he heard a few gunshots, and saw James carry off a dog that appeared to be dead. The police report states that the dog had puppies a few days before the incident, one puppy was found dead and some of the puppies were missing.
Officials say James had a previous felony conviction in the state of Arkansas.
James is being held in the Cleburne County Jail on four counts of Animal Cruelty, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
