FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) - A Washington County jailer was arrested after deputies say he brought chewing tobacco into the detention center for inmates.
Donnie Worley, 41, of Huntsville was arrested and faces a charge of furnishing, possessing or using prohibited articles, authorities said. He was booked into the very detention center deputies said he brought tobacco into.
On Tuesday, deputies were tipped off about the tobacco, and they started investigating the tips. The investigation ended with Worley's arrest, authorities said.
He had been employed at the jail for less than six months.
"Providing contraband is against the law, and it will not be tolerated," the sheriff's office said.
