HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (News release) - Hayden Shamel, Chair of the Democratic Party of Garland County, is officially seeking the Democratic nomination for United States Congress from Arkansas' 4th Congressional District.
The official public announcement event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 3 - 5 p.m. at the historic downtown Farmers' Pavilion in Hot Springs.

Hayden has devoted her life as an educator and political leader to encouraging people to get involved and to give back to their community and state. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work in education and politics, including being named a 2017 Emerging Leader of the Democratic Party of Arkansas and a recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Arkansas Association of Two Year Colleges. Her carer in secondary and higher education has taken her from Texarkana to Hope to Hot Springs, giving her unique insight into the economic and educational needs of the people of the 4th District.
Hayden is proud Arkansan and South Democrat who is dedicated to listening to the needs of the people and implementing real solutions and real change that will directly benefit Arkansas families.
As a mother, professional educator, and community and state leader, Hayden's fight for a better tomorrow for all of Arkansas includes creating jobs, reducing costs for prescription medication and healthcare, and improving public education.
