LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A parolee and his girlfriend described risking their lives to save a lady under attack in Little Rock.
Little Rock Police said 19-year-old Kalon Henry attempted to rape a woman who was walking in the 3600 block of Mabelvale.
The police reports read Ladell Johnson and his girlfriend Priscella Eatmon helped stop the attack when Ladell chased the suspect to a nearby church's parking lot near 35th and Mabelvale around 7:30 Thursday night.
"I just blanked out and said Lord if I die, Lord I die," said Ladell Johnson.
Johnson and his girlfriend Priscella Eatmon said they made a quick decision they'll never regret.
"He had her pulling her clothes down in the middle of the street and was trying to drag her in the woods," Johnson said.
Eatmon and Johnson said they did not know the victim or the suspect.
The couple said when they saw the woman struggling they made a quick u-turn to go and help.
"I said if he got a gun or not I'm going to grab him if I can get my hands on him. I'm going to put him down on the ground," said Johnson.
Police said the 42-year-old held the 19-year-old suspect until they arrived on scene.
"On the ground, on the ground in the back of the church," he said.
Johnson said he didn't care if he put his life and his parole at risk to save the stranger's life.
"I was in prison for assault, battery, and drugs. I don't live my life like that today," Johnson said.
Instead, he said he helped a woman because that's what any man should do.
As for his parole, Johnson said LRPD let him go without any problem.
Henry currently sits in the Pulaski County jail for attempted rape, according to the jail's website.
