CONWAY, Ark.-- The Conway Police Department is working to bridge the gap between law enforcement and some of the youngest community members in the area.
The department hosted its annual child safety fair Saturday. The event gave kids and parents a chance to get in some safety lessons while having some food and winning some prizes.
Latresha Woodruff with the Conway Police says, "We want children to learn that police officers and first responders are their friends so that they aren't afraid of them if they have an emergency situation."
Organizers say the goal is to develop relationships and build trust.
