Burglar Hits LR Home Where Double Murder-Suicide Occurred Last Month

LITTLE ROCK, Ark -- A Little Rock home, where a double murder-suicide happened Sunday, August 20, 2017, was broken into.

Police said Robert Mangan, 39, along with his 4-year-old and 6-year-old kids were found dead at their Birchwood Drive, home by his wife.

From the 911 call release, we learned that the children suffocated. There was another man who lived with the family, but neighbors said he moved out shortly after the tragedy.

According to investigators, the kids' mother reported the break-in on Wednesday. She said someone kicked in a door and broke out several windows, possibly two weeks prior.

Little Rock police said four televisions and tools were allegedly stolen from the home.

Jessica Loughmiller, a neighbor, said it's hard to believe anyone would bother the home, after the double murder-suicide involving Mangan and his two young kids.

"I just think that it's upsetting that people are still going in that house and causing drama and stuff," said Loughmiller. "I guess somebody needed their stuff out of there. I don't know."

Neighbors said they didn't see anyone or anything suspicious at or around the house at the time of the break-in.

Police said they are working to identify a suspect.
