BATESVILLE, Ark -- The Batesville school district is creating a plan that could restructure where some kids go to school.
The superintendent says earlier this Fall the board had multiple meetings with teachers, parents, and even students about what the goals should be moving forward.
Officials say one of those goals is going to be reducing the district's footprint.
That would require getting rid of three campuses in the district.
The next goal would be to improve the remaining schools, adding what the superintendent calls "Wow features".
"Our elementaries, we would have something in there for them", said Dr. Michael Hester, Batesville Schools Superintendent. "And then on our secondary, we do not have a theater and our gym is probably about the size of a 1 or 2A high school gym".
The district says it will likely propose a bond to improve or build those facilities but that's still at least a couple years out.
