Arkansas State Police Arrest Man Accused of Burning Woman in Mississippi

MONROE COUNTY, Ark. -- A man accused of burning a woman and leaving her on the side of a Mississippi highway has been arrested in Arkansas.

According to Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison, 43-year-old Jerry Glenn Willis was found in Monroe County Friday.

Willis faces charges of attempted murder, felony taking of a motor vehicle and kidnapping.

Agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and other officers were looking for Willis for domestic aggravated assault and kidnapping after his girlfriend was found severely injured.

46-year-old Stacy Mitchell Frank is in critical condition at a Mississippi burn unit.

The preliminary investigation indicates Frank had been doused with gasoline, set afire, and left beside the road Wednesday night in Pearl River County Mississippi.

Sheriff Allison says Willis was attempting to destroy a vehicle belonging to Stacy Frank when he was taken into custody by Arkansas State Police.

A dispatcher with the Monroe County Sheriff's office confirms Willis is in their custody and says the extradition process is underway.
