Arkansas Futures Grant Helps Pay for College

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Arkansas Futures grant offers a don't-miss opportunity for students in STEM (science, technology, education, and math) and other high-demand fields of study.

The grant pays all tuition and fees for students who meet residency requirements and agree to remain employed in Arkansas for three years after graduation.

At UA Pulaski Tech, Chancellor Margaret Ellibee says the grant covers about 45 certificate or associate degree careers, many of which have a salary of more than $50,000 a year.

"A barrier to come to school is financial and Arkansas Futures, along with Pell grant coupled together, allows students the opportunity to have a free education and a great occupational area that's demanded by many industries in the state," she says.

The grant is available on a first come, first served basis.

The application is available through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
