AR Teen Shot in Face, Suspects in Custody

Garland County incident happened Wednesday

GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. - Authorities say a 17-year-old male was shot in the face Wednesday morning.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office received a call around 7 a.m. that a person had been shot near the 400 block of Ryan Road in Pearcy, Ark. and was being transported by a personal vehicle to the hospital. 

Deputies along with LifeNet personnel met the vehicle at Marion Anderson and Hwy 70. Inside was the victim, his mother Lessie Galo, 37 and Keonte Rauls, 18. The victim was transported by LifeNet to a local hospital to be treated for the apparent gunshot wounds. 

Authorities say the injuries appear to not be life threatening. 

Deputies took Galo and Rauls to the Sheriff's Office for questioning and were later arrested and booked into the Garland County Detention Center. 

Rauls was charged with First Degree Battery. Galo was arrested for outstanding warrants and two firearms violations for firearms found in her possession.
