LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Improvements to Highway 70 require lane closures in Garland, Hot Spring, and Montgomery counties, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Crews will be clearing debris from along the shoulders to prevent the accumulation of water on the roadway. The work will reduce traffic to 1 lane within the moving work zone.
Weather permitting, the work will extend west from Hempwallace in Garland County to the Montgomery/Pike County line on the dates listed below. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, cones, and warning signs.
- Garland County: June 16-20, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Hempwallace to Hot Spring Co. line, 8 miles
- Hot Spring County: June 23-24, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Garland Co. line to Montgomery Co., 4 miles
- Montgomery County: June 25 & 26, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Hot Spring Co. line to Pike Co. line, 6 miles
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
