LITTLE ROCK, AR-It was knock, after knock on doors in Little Rock Saturday.
"We have 9 two man teams going out and checking addresses throughout the city to verify whether the offender lives there or not" says Sergeant Bryan Brown.
Sergeant Brown is a member of one of those teams.
The Little Rock Police Department Juvenile Investigations unit along with the US Marshall's Office teamed up Saturday.
They stopped by the homes of more than 120 registered sex offenders.
Tackling a fraction of the 500 plus that could live next to you in the capitol city.
"In some cases before we got to the door we had some neighbors telling us hey that address is vacant they moved out and that they had never seen the person we were looking for" says Brown.
The police department does this multiple times a year targeting high level registered sex offenders in order to keep track of the ones in the area.
"In some cases we did go to addresses and make contact with either the offender that was suppose to register or a relative and they stated that yes they did live they or could successfully verify" says Brown.
