Big Jump for Natural State Jackpot to $400,000

LITTLE ROCK, AR - There's been a bigger jump than usual for the Natural State Jackpot as the game rises to its highest amount ever.

The grand prize amount is at $400,000 for tonight's drawing.

Normally, the game increases by $5,000 between drawings but lottery officials decided to give it a $25,000 boost after no winner Monday night.

State lottery officials say the big boost for tonight's Natural State Jackpot is in celebration of player excitement.

The game has not reached this level of play, number of consecutive draws (61) without a top prize winner or Jackpot range in the 505 drawings since the game’s first on Aug. 27, 2012.

In celebration of Natural State Jackpot games success in capturing the imagination and anticipation of our players, the Natural State Jackpot has been given a $25,000 roll increase to last night’s $375,000 to celebrate player excitement and game success.

The April NSJ game sales, have topped all past sales totals for the first seven days of the month. The NSJ sales total is over $760,000 (March 31 – April 7).

The record breaking sales have also created more players than ever winning a prize in the game, in the last six days of NSJ play over 72,700 have won an NSJ prize from $1 for correctly matching just two numbers to $300 for correctly matching four of the numbers drawn.

Monday’s April 7 NSJ game ticket sales totaled over $133,900, making it the highest single day of sales for the game, along with the highest number of prize winners in a single day of play (15,944).

The 71 days between Jan. 15 and April 7 has seen player interest in this Arkansas only game increase with over 1.5 million tickets sold generating over $2.4 million in revenue. Over 50 percent of NSJ game sales can be counted as return for the lottery, with a large portion being contributed to Arkansas education in the form of scholarships and grants.

The odds of winning the Natural State Jackpot are 1 in 575,757, the overall odds of winning a prize in the game 1 in 9.

NSJ players choose just 5 numbers between 1 and 39 in this game and player’s can choose to play up to 20 consecutive draws in NSJ. Each play costs $1. The game is drawn six nights a week (Monday through Saturday), at 8:00 P.M. (CST)

If there is no Jackpot Winner tonight, the game will roll to $405,000 for the Wednesday night drawing.

Players matching two numbers will win $1; three numbers win $7; four matching numbers win $300, and all five numbers will win the jackpot, guaranteed to be worth at least $25,000. Each night in which there is no big winner, an additional $5,000 is added to the jackpot. If there is more than one jackpot winner, the prize will be equally divided among all the jackpot prize winners. The overall odds of winning are one in nine.
