Verizon Disaster Preparedness Gear

Disasters don’t plan ahead, but you can. September is National Preparedness Month and Grant Laisure from Verizon was here to show us some gear that can help you prepare for severe weather and power outages!

  • Mophie Powerstation XXL 20000
    • · Keep your mobile devices charged in an outage with the Mophie Powerstation XXL. The battery delivers enough power to give your smartphone up to seven additional charges, and it can charge a host of other devices, including tablets. Three USB ports give you the flexibility to charge multiple devices at one time. An LED battery indicator keeps you informed of the battery's charge level. Includes a micro USB cable.
  • Samsung 4G LTE Network Extender
    • · A power outage can mean difficulty connecting to your network. Keep your network streaming with this 4g LTE Network Extender! It’s like a personal mini cell tower for your home or office. This sleek, compact device enhances your existing 4G LTE coverage at no additional monthly cost. Up to seven users can simultaneously have access to 4G LTE data and HD Voice. Simple to install and easy to use; the intuitive LCD display assists in set-up and operation.
  • Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm - Wired 120V
    • · Never worry about the scare of CO2 poisoning again with the Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm. With the Nest Protect, you receive notifications via your smart device in cases of smoke and carbon monoxide, when batteries are running low or if a sensor isn't working. So there are no unpleasant surprises when you come home after a day - or a vacation - away. And did we mention it's smart? If it detects a full blaze, the Nest Protect flashes red, sounds the alarm and tells you it's time to head for the door. If it's just a bit of smoke, it glows yellow as a precautionary measure. The Split-Spectrum Sensor looks for fast and slow-burning fires, and the 10-year carbon monoxide sensor tells you where the poisonous CO is hiding. If you have multiple Nest Protect units throughout your home, you can designate each one a name based on the room it's in, so your alerts will have even more detail when something occurs ("smoke detected in the kitchen", "fire in the bedroom", etc.).
  • Hue Go
    • · When a power outage occurs, your light sources go out with it! The Philips Hue Go lets you illuminate any room, wherever you may be. Ready for use right out of the box, Hue Go can be plugged into a power outlet or can be detached and becomes a portable light source you can carry. In portable mode, Hue Go can last up to 3 hours thanks to its rechargeable internal battery. The built-in smart battery management guarantees maximum usage.
  • Energizer Cup Inverter
    • · Always be prepared to charge your devices from your car in case of a disaster. With the Energizer Cup Inverter you'll have all the power you need with this ultra compact car charger. It fits into most cup holders and features 4 USB ports (2.1 Amp shared) and one standard North American AC outlet. The Energizer Cup Inverter can power up to five devices at once and is tablet-charging compatible so no devices will be left behind. The ultra silent fan keeps the unit cool even under heavy load. Just plug it into your vehicle's lighter socket or attach to a car battery with the included cables and you've got the power!
