Mentor Match Day on Arkansas Today

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- In an effort to connect students with the guidance they need to be successful during the school year and beyond, KARK is hosting a "Mentor Match Day" throughout the day.

KARK and its Victory Over Violence campaign are partnering with the Little Rock School District and Big Brothers Big Sisters to match up students directly with mentors.

You can call 501-340-4922 to sign up during our morning, noon, or early evening newscasts. Each student involved in "Mentor Match Day" was selected by a school administrator or teacher.

"In many cases, our young people need additional guidance in their lives," said KARK News Director Austin Kellerman. "They may come from single-parent, low-income, or other challenging environment.  The connection with a mentor to help guide them down the right path is critical to their success."

If you're not able to call in today, you can always click here to fill out a mentoring application.
