Holiday Open House, Teas Scheduled at Governor’s Mansion First Lady Invites Arkansans to Visit Mansion During 2017 Holiday Season
LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas First Lady Susan Hutchinson announced today a list of public events scheduled at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion during the 2017 holiday season.
The 2017 season, “A Nutcracker Holiday,” kicks off on Sunday, December 3, 1 - 4 p.m., with the Mansion’s annual Holiday Open House which is free to the public and will feature ballet performances from “The Nutcracker” by the Hot Springs Children’s Dance Theater Company, as well as a giant model train display courtesy of the Arkansas Train Museum in Pine Bluff. A series of three holiday teas will also be hosted by the First Lady on the following dates in December: Tuesday, December 12, 2 p.m.; Thursday, December 14, 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, December 19 (Nutcracker Tea: A Delightful Tea for Boys and Girls), 2 p.m. All three teas will feature ballet performances by the Hot Springs children’s dance troupe.
“I am thrilled to be hosting holiday teas again this year and am especially excited to welcome boys and girls to the Mansion on December 19 for the Nutcracker Tea,” First Lady Susan Hutchinson said. “We purposely scheduled the third tea on a day when children would be out of school (December 19), in hopes that many of these little ones will come experience the children’s ballet performance and giant train display at the Mansion.”
During all events, the Mansion Nutcracker Market (gift shop) will also be open, offering unique gift items made predominantly by Arkansas craftsmen and companies.
Tickets for the teas are $50 each, and are available online at: www.friendsofthemansion.org, or by calling 501-324-9805.
All proceeds from the Mansion’s holiday events benefit the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Association, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for the renovation, improvement, furnishings and endowment of the Mansion.
