Update: Benton Girl Recovering from Parasitic Meningitis Speaks for First Time in Month

- LITTLE ROCK, AR - Exactly one month after being admitted to the hospital, parasitic meningitis survivor Kali Hardig is now able to speak.

The 12-year-old from Benton has now said "hello" to her mother.

Just last week, doctors said Kali had improved enough that she could recover from the often fatal illness.

Friends of the family are also sponsoring a fundraiser golf tournament at Stonelinks Golf Course in North Little Rock.
It will be held September 14.
