McClellan High School Set to Honor a Fallen Student

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- McClellan High School is preparing for its annual homecoming festivities while honoring Adrian Broadway.  Adrian was shot and killed last Friday night.  Adrian, 15, was chosen to be a representative on the Homecoming Court.  Friday she will be honored with an empty chair and roses, but Thursday friends and faculty worked to put it all together.

Adrian's friend Olivia Perez was working on the decorations she said, "There's not a real amount of how much I will miss her."

"As we are doing the work, it's hitting us slowly."

Renita Wilbon is a faculty member who helps with homecoming, she said, "It has truly been hard, because Adrian was an outgoing, loving, caring, energetic young lady."

Olivia said this process has been very difficult, "No matter what, Adrian, she is always going to be with us.  She loved the basketball games, she loved cheering, so I mean it's not going to be the same without her, but we all know she's going to be there."

Ms. Wilbon said, "I just want the kids to embrace homecoming but at the same time remember Adrian."

Olivia had two letters, A and B, drawn on her legs, but she might make a more permanent memorial, "If I could, I would get tatted, but I'm just representing my little sister, cause I miss her."

McClellan High School and several community groups will remember Adrian with a vigil Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the school's football stadium.
