Faith Matters: Rick Santorum's "Seasons of Gray"

- LITTLE ROCK, AR - From a presidential run to the head of a film studio, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum is now the CEO of a faith-based film studio out of Texas. Tonight he is in Little Rock to premiere one of his films.

It’s been a year since Santorum ended his presidential run. Now, the former Pennsylvania Senator is focusing on changing our culture – through film – as CEO of EchoLight Studios.

“We see this as an opportunity to reach out and evangelize a little bit,” he says.

Faith and family have always been important to Santorum. That’s why he wants to provide entertaining films, while encouraging others and raising values.

“If we’re going to have an impact on where culture is going, it’s a good thing to do to get in the entertainment industry,” says Santorum.

EchoLight Studios is partnering with best-selling author Max Lucado to make films such as "You’ll Get Through This," hoping to help those dealing with tragedy.

Another of EchoLight’s films – Seasons of Gray – is opening in Little Rock. “It’s the story of Joseph, in modern day,” Santorum explains.

And looking ahead, Santorum says he plans to focus on film, but the 2016 election can’t be ruled out.

“I was in Iowa over the weekend, so I can’t say I haven’t thought about it, but my focus is on doing this. I’m going to work where God needs me, and if that’s another presidential run, I’m open to that. If it’s to have an impact on culture through this company of spending more time with family, I’ve got to be open to where the Lord leads me. I’m open, but haven’t decided anything yet,” he says.

Santorum will be screening the film, Seasons of Gray, tonight in Little Rock at 7:00 p.m. at the Chenal 9.
