However, the death of actor and comedian Robin Williams has sparked a discussion about depression and suicide.
An average of 368 Arkansans take their own life each year according to the Arkansas Department of Health. More than 2,000 Arkansans attempt suicide annually.
State health leaders say there are some risk factors to watch for in the people around around you:
• History of depression or other mental illness.
• Alcohol or drug abuse.
• Family history of suicide or violence.
• Physical illness.
• Feeling alone.
