LITTLE ROCK, AR -- You may be getting a knock on the door from a U.S. Census worker.
It's not a recount, but the agency is looking for information that will help with what the Census already knows.
The agency is working all year long gathering data that will be used to analyze information.
Census field representatives will be in and out of neighborhoods over the next several weeks.
They said they're collecting information that helps shape government programs. They tell us lawmakers will use the responses you write down to evaluate the future needs of programs, like food stamps, the impact of health insurance, and the cost of medical care.
While there's no penalty for failing to answer the questions, leaders said it could have an affect on programs that many rely on.
Census representatives are required to wear a badge to identify themselves. Be sure to look for that if they knock on your door.
