LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Board of Education approved a charter school for middle school students in west Little Rock on Friday.

The board voted 6-2 to approve the charter for Responsive Ed, a charter school group out of Texas.

The company opened a middle school in Pine Bluff in August 2013.

The school will be located on Rahling Road in Little Rock with a target enrollment of 490 with plans to add a 9th grade in 2015.

Parent Rachelle Bloser says the school is just the right size.

"It's going to be small and we really look forward to the individual attention that she will receive, we look forward to the rigorous curriculum," Bloser says. "It's five minutes from our house so we're just elated with the decision today."
