SOCHI -- It's possible the star of Friday night's 2014 Opening Ceremony was an 11-year-old high-flying phenom.

On Saturday, Sochi reporter Neile Jones caught up with one of the most memorable figures of the big night to discuss her amazing performance.

Needless to say, Liza Temnikova described the experience as "awesome."  She also said she wasn't scared being suspended so high above spectators.

"She's an athlete, she's an athlete and she's just this way, calm," her mother Marina Temnikova told Denver's 9 News. "She's a very shy and reserved child."

In the clip above, you can see Liza soaking up some of the media attention today following yesterday's big performance.
