The Exodus Project is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on reducing incarceration and recidivism in our community through the education of prisoners upon reentry. This program is for inmates who truly want to make a change in their life. In partnership with Arkansas Community Correction, The Exodus Project has changed lives through the commitment and the high level of expectations placed on the participants in their education programs.
Joining the Victory Over Violence partners of The Exodus Project are the Derek Olivier Research Institute and Muskie Harris Rehabilitation Services. DORI, aligned with students, community leaders, clergy, cities and state government, proposes to reduce violence through education, research, and social development that identifies solutions and potential best practices with the goal of the eradication of violence in Arkansas. MHRS Services provide services and individualized care for those in our community seeking to recover from drug and alcohol dependency.
The $25.00 registration fee includes a Victory over Violence t-shirt. Registration for children 5 and under is free, but they are required to be registered if they will be on the race course at any time.
In cases of inclement weather, MLK Victory Over Violence 5k reserves the right to cancel or shorten the distance of the race should the course become unavailable or unsuitable for runner participation. The safety of our participants, volunteers, police and medical personnel are our top priority.
