Little Rock, Arkansas -
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Arkansas today distributed $1 million to 21 grantees from across the state.
The majority of those donated funds come from the annual race that raises awareness about breast cancer.
A luncheon in Little Rock presented the grantees with their awards.
This is the 20th year the Komen organization has been able to use money raised from the race to support programs around the state.
"By us paying for mammograms, we know we save lives of Arkansas' women," says Sherrye McBryde, executive director of Komen Race for the Cure Arkansas.
See the attached map and list of the grantees.
