Jacksonville's Second Annual FestiVille Sept. 26-27

JACKSONVILLE, AR (News release) - The Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department will host the second annual FestiVille. The free community event will be held September 26-27 in Dupree Park (1Park Street, Jacksonville).  

FestiVille’s second year will feature live entertainment and music, food vendors, a children’s area that includes a rock climbing wall, canine demos with the Jacksonville Police Department, a British Motoring Club of Arkansas car show, BBQ cook off, fishing derby, registered 1k and 5k and a volleyball tournament. 

“We’re thrilled to announce FestiVille’s second year in Jacksonville. This year FestiVille will be bigger and better than ever,” said Dana Rozenski, recreation programs supervisor of the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department. “The festival will feature activities and entertainment for all ages. The goal is to present our community with a festival they can look forward to attending every year with their whole family.” 

Live entertainment and music will be showcased on two stages, the Pavilion Stage and the Jacksonville Advertising and Promotion Commission (JA&P) Stage, throughout Friday and Saturday.  

On Friday, the Pavilion Stage will feature Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter Band, Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter Choir and the Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter Dance and Cheer team, and the JA&P Stage will feature Aces Wild, Matthew Huff and The Revolutioners.  

On Saturday, the Pavilion Stage will feature the Jacksonville High School cheerleaders, Huff N Puff, Erica Brewer and Alexis Landers, Sharon’s Dance, CAPPA, Gospel Group, Rhythm Safari Dance Company with special guests United Dancers Alliance and Brandon Farris, and the JA&P Stage will feature Down and Dirty, Gabriel Bradley, Zack McKenzie, Three Times Denied, Ment 2 B, Eddie and the Defiantz and the Luke Williams Band. 

Admission to the festival will be free. Rides and some activities may cost.

Some activities, including the BBQ cook off, fishing derby, registered 1k and 5k and volleyball tournament require entry forms. Entry forms and deadlines for the BBQ cook off and registered 1k and 5k can be found at www.festiville.org. The fishing derby and volleyball tournament registration will take place on site.
