Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas's mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with measurable outcomes. The program works!
Based on a national independent study, children with a Big Brother or Sister for one year were:
46% less likely to use drugs
27% less likely to consume alcohol
52% less likely to skip school and classes
33% less likely to engage in acts of violence
Each Thursday night KARK 4 News will introduce you to participants and volunteers who are inspirational.Watch KARK 4 News each Thursday at 5PM for
"Big Thursday".Get involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Choose one of these programs:
Community-based program – Be matched with a child and spend time with them 2-3 times a month for a year. The program supports individual matches, or couple matches where a married couple is matched with one child. Family matches are also available. Volunteer must be at least 19.
Bigs-in-School program – A school-based mentoring program where volunteers 16 years and older visit a Little Brother or Sister at their school during the school year.
