FAYETTEVILLE, AR (KNWA) - Local farmers and a group of students from the University of Arkansas are teaming up for a flavorful fundraiser.

The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance is making "Grower's Gift" spaghetti sauce to raise support for the Arkansas Gleaning Project.

"We have good healthy food and the Grower's Gift line of products, spaghetti sauce being the first, will help us make that program sustainable and feed lots of Arkansans in need," said Michelle Shope, Director of Food Sourcing and Logistics for the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.

Many of the people helping in the initiative are international students like Brazilian food science major Gabriela Ferreier. "Here I am, like improving my skills, my academic skills," said Ferreier.

"People from here, they just helped me since I arrived here, so I feel I am returning it for them back."
