Russellville, Arkansas -
RUSSELLVILLE, AR - Russellville aldermen approved a formal development agreement for a convention center during a called meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Developer David Hunt of Jackson, Tenn.-based Hunt Development said he is “humbled” to be a part of the community. He acknowledged that the city has invested in the property and taken risks, and added he too has taken risks to develop the project — dubbed “The Landing at Russellville” — all because of a belief shared by himself and city officials that the project can be successful.
“I was impressed with this community; I was impressed with the people of this community,” Hunt, who also owns Russellville’s Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, said. He later added, “You don’t dream big, you don’t accomplish anything.”
The developer agreement with Hunt provides for construction of a 120-room Hilton Garden Inn and an 18,000-square-foot convention center. Both the hotel and convention center would be owned and operated by the developer. The project has been dubbed "The Landing at Russellville."
