New Apartments Coming to Little Rock's SoMA District

LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Construction has begun on the South Village Apartments at Quapaw, a new luxury apartment center, at 1301 Louisiana St., the heart of the South Main, or SoMa, District in downtown Little Rock. Completion is expected early 2015.

South Village Apartments at Quapaw will feature 16 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, complete with high-end amenities, such as:
  • Washer/Dryers in unit
  • Granite Counter Tops
  • Walk-in closets
  • Keyless entry gates and fences
  • Elegantly landscaped grounds
  • Secured parking
South Village’s location is ideal. The luxury apartment building will allow quick access to many urban amenities, while retaining a neighborhood feeling and sense of place. It’s only blocks away from popular restaurants such as Community Bakery, The Root Café, Boulevard Bread Co and South on Main. Other nearby places of interest include the Green Corner Store, Bernice Gardens and Walgreens. Interstates 630 and 30 are mere minutes away. South Village is also within walking distance of the financial and business district and government offices, and a short three to five minute drive to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Little Rock’s other three other major medical centers.

South Village at Quapaw, a $2 million project, is an enterprise of Stewart Real Estate Development, L.L.C, led by Charles O. Stewart. Stewart is a retired banking executive with decades of experience in finance, community development and community involvement. Stewart owned and managed Trapnall Place historic apartments in the late 1990’s in downtown Little Rock.

"I have always loved the Governor’s Mansion District of Little Rock. South Village will help to meet the need for additional living units in the downtown area, while retaining the architectural integrity of this historic part of our city. I am pleased and excited to be a part of the transformation and rebirth of downtown Little Rock,” Stewart said.

“With the addition of the South Village Apartments at Quapaw, SoMa will become an even more attractive destination for those in the market for a downtown apartment. The City of Little Rock is excited to welcome this new development to an area that is experiencing a remarkable rebound,” Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola said.
